welcome

Hello!

Welcome to Rosewillow Reiki!

If you have found yourself on our website you are either familiar with the benefits of Reiki already or simply exploring new therapies for you or your pet. Either way, we are happy you are here and we sincerely thank you for visiting.

Rosewillow Reiki is the heart-child of Rose and Willow Mainprize. We are two cousins, who are both third-generation alternative health practitioners respectively, and have found our way to Reiki from entirely separate paths in life. We are extremely excited and grateful to have this opportunity to join together in bringing an empowering, supportive and compassionate Reiki practice to Vancouver, Canada.

So what is Reiki anyway? Long story short, Reiki (ray-key) is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing for the mind and body.

Developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui, it is based on the principle that a trained practitioner can channel universal life force energy (Qi or Ki) into the patient to activate the patient’s natural healing processes. Although Reiki does have some spiritual aspects you dont have to believe in a God, the soul or even Universal Life Energy (although the founding fathers of Quantam Physics may argue with you) to enjoy the benefits of Reiki. In a nutshell, each treatment simply allows one to enter a deep, restorative, relaxed state (meditation) that ignites the bodies own innate healing abilities, helping to restore emotional and physical well-being. If you think it sounds a bit “kookie” well, we certainly agree. We can’t deny having raised a few eyebrows at cocktail parties when asked “What do you do?”. Reiki is simply something one has to experience for themselves in order to fully understand it.

Benefits of Reiki include:

  • Feeling peaceful and relaxed
  • Enhanced mental clarity
  • Increased energy levels
  • Reduced anxiety and depression
  • Pain Relief
  • Compliments medical treatment and
  • Reduced unwanted side effects

So, how does Reiki do all that? That, my friends, is the million dollar question. Add it to a bundle of other things science has a hard time explaining; like why water is the only chemical that expands when it freezes, or the illusion of time, or why plants are better at arithmetic than we are. (We know, that one surprised us too.) Reiki, like a lot of things in the Universe, is something that although we have a hard time explaining HOW it works, we simply know it does.

Thank you for visiting Rosewillow Reiki!
